Collection
The Collection tab shows the records you own. When you're signed in with Discogs, it loads your Discogs collection with cover art. If you connect MusicBrainz, you can also view and merge MusicBrainz collections.

Stats bar
At the top you'll see:
- Total records count
- Estimated value (sum of Discogs median prices)
- Number of labels in your collection
- Recently Added — Your newest additions
6 Collection views
The view switcher lets you browse your collection in different ways:
### Grid A responsive card grid showing album art, artist, album, year, format, and value. This is the default view.
### List A compact single-column list grouped A–Z by artist. Each row shows a thumbnail, artist, album, year, format, label, and value badge. Includes a letter jump bar for quick navigation.
### Shelf Horizontal scrolling rows grouped by category:
- By Decade — 2020s, 2010s, 2000s, 90s, 80s, etc.
- By Label — Top labels in your collection (Sub Pop, SST, etc.)
- By Format — LPs, 7"s, CDs, Cassettes, etc.
- Most Valuable — Your highest-value records
- Format filter pills — All, LP, 7", 10", Cassette, CD
### A–Z Alphabetical horizontal scrolling rows — one row per letter. Includes a letter jump bar at the top for quick access to any letter.
### Crate A paginated grid browser organized alphabetically. Navigate between letter groups using the letter bar, left/right arrows, or swipe gestures. Shows multiple records per page with album art, artist, and album name.
### Crates Shows records organized by your digital crates (custom sub-collections you create in Profile). Each crate section shows its icon, name, and record count with a horizontal scroll of records. An "Uncrated" section at the bottom shows records not in any crate.
Filters and sort
- Sort — A–Z, Value (high to low), Date Added, Year
- Search — Type to filter by artist, album, label, or year. Clear with the ✕ button.
- Cover art — Full-width album art from Discogs
Adding records
### Search & Add Tap + Add to search Discogs and add records to your collection. Results show album art, artist, title, and an "Owned" badge if you already have it.
### Custom items Tap + Custom to add non-Discogs items like cassettes, zines, setlists, posters, tour shirts, ticket stubs, patches, pins, or other memorabilia. Enter artist, title, type, value, and notes.
Detail modal
Tapping a record card opens a detail view:

- Artist (tappable) — Opens the Artist Deep Dive
- Album, label, year, catalog number — Key pressing info
- Value — Current estimated value with 6-month sparkline chart
- Condition pills — Tap M, NM, VG+, VG, G+, G, F, or P to set condition
- Story / Provenance — Write where you got this record ("Found at Amoeba SF", "Gift from Dad")
- Notes — Pressing details, dead wax markings, or anything else
- Add to Crate — Assign to one of your digital crates
- Price alert — Set a price target for notifications
- You might also like — Similar records from your collection (same artist, label, or era)
- Move to Wantlist — Transfer the record to your wantlist
- Save — Persists condition, provenance, and notes to the server
- Artist image loaded from Discogs
Artist Deep Dive
Tap an artist name in the detail modal to open a deep dive:
- Bio — Artist biography
- Owned releases — Records by this artist in your collection
- Wantlist items — Records by this artist on your wantlist
- Discography timeline — Visual timeline with dots indicating owned releases
- Band members — Known members
- Search discography — Find more releases by this artist
- Web: Creates a shareable URL with an album art grid. Copy the link or use your browser's share feature.
Share My Shelf
Tap Share → below the stats bar to generate a shareable view of your top records:
Source selector (Discogs / MusicBrainz / Both)
1. Connect MusicBrainz in Profile → Connected services. 2. Open Collection. 3. Use the Source pills: Discogs, MusicBrainz, or Both. 4. The list and stats update. "Both" shows a single merged list (no duplicate artist+title rows).
Caching
Your collection is cached locally for 30 minutes. On return visits, records load instantly from cache while fresh data fetches silently in the background. Cache is cleared on sign-out.
When you're not signed in
Collection shows demo data (12 classic punk/indie records) so you can try the app. Sign in with Discogs to see your real data.
